The Otte Polo Group is looking for a Financial Controller that will maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
Controller Job Duties:
- Responsible for financial reporting, financial strategy, AP, AR, Payroll/Benefits administration, risk minimization planning, cost controls, and all aspects of companies’ financial matters.
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
- Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.
- Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans and updating with actual monthly figures
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Ensure consistency of accounting treatment and reporting across all domestic and international accounting operations and accounting periods
- Reconciles bank statements, CRM and financial statements.
- Presents monthly financial data & analysis to Executive Management and proposes financial planning and strategy
- Hire, retain and engage a team of high caliber professionals for Finance team spread across various offices. Provide sound managerial guidance while also being a great coach and mentor
- Ensure consistency of accounting treatment and reporting across all domestic and international accounting operations and accounting periods
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Complies with international, federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Ensures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Travel to offices in different states and countries
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Accounting, Finance, or related area.
- Must be bilingual English and Spanish. Native level English is required
- Must have worked or studied in the US
- At least 5 years of experience in similar positions at financial analysis functions
- QuickBooks experience
